I've got icicle lights. I've always wanted to have a house with a verandah to string up icicle lights. Not ones that flash or ones that are coloured. Just strands of little white lights that hang delicately from the verandah roof & say gently to the world that it's christmas time. And even though there is so much to be cynical about this Christmas, race riots in Sydney, poverty, the Howard government... why not take the opportunity to send out a gentle, peaceful message. That's why I switch on my icicle lights every evening, even when it's still light & as the day slowly fades they take over in their simple beauty and give me a good feeling. I have enjoyed the couple of Cafe Quince gigs & our performance @ the Bendigo Folk Club. They were all gentle & intimate & full of lots of laughter & resulted in special new aquaintances. That's it for me until Jigzag hits the Woodford stages after Christmas & then tours all down the east coast. I have put up all the January gigs for the Jigzag tour on the gigs page of this site & I can promise all you Victorians that we are finally coming back to Victoria as Jigzag in February. Still working out details but I'll get them on the site as soon as they have been confirmed. I'd like to take this chance to thank all those who have helped me through a very rewarding yet difficult year with lots of changes. My friends- I couldn't have done it without you. That includes every one of you who came to a show or bought an album. As a final christmas thought, if you want to a give a more unusual gift this christmas to the person who has everything, check out www.tear.org.au -much better than socks or hankies! Lotsa love, ~liz |
