Yes! I'm sitting down to coffee & a really lovely lemon & poppyseed cake thanks to Ickadoo- who only needs to email me & claim her prize. The lemon tree is still groaning with the weight of so many fruit & it's a good thing as the cold season got to me this time round & lemon & honey is the order of the day. Maybe I should have a cold remedy competition? Actually it's not surprising that my immune system was overwhelmed. Doing thirty gigs at the National folk festival in little over 4 days is not really a prime example of looking after your health but it sure was fun. I played some great gigs with Jigzag including the inspired Queen competition where our gaffa tape moustaches & our medley got us all the way to the grand finals, even if we weren't quite the champions, my friend! The gigs with Brett Robin Wood were also lovely & there are a few new photos in the gallery to check out of a few of my exploits. It was sublime playing at the Budawang with Chris While & Julie Matthews. It was the first time since making their album with them that we were able to reproduce it live. I also immensely enjoyed the Joni Mitchell tribute where Gilly Darbey sang harmonies to my bass/voice version of A Case of You. And what about Chris While's version of 'Both Sides Now"? I had shivers all over! And the Beatles Show & jamming with Mal Webb on 'Pash Crush' &..&... Well it's time to go into the studio with Jdi Martin after a lovely show with her last night @ the Northcote Social Club & then a weekend @ Wintermoon with Jigzag. Life is good. ~liz x |
