I have tried & tried but in vain!
I cannot play a salsa groove & sing a melody at the same time.

My life seems suddenly full of new projects. Since I stepped off the plane from Jigzag's Finland fiesta I have recorded bass for The Lawnmowers new album, full of rip-roaring bluegrass tunes & mind-bending new acoustic music, rehearsed some great old-timey music with Dev'lish Mary who have their first official gig at The Artery this Thursday (read all about it in the gig guide) & last night had the first rehearsal for an all-girl latin band who are to perform at The Melbourne Womens International Jazz Festival. I'm now DREAMING IN PORTUGUESE! ritmo tambour y flores......

It's a strange place to be for me right now- full of contrasts. On one hand the move to Melbourne, away from all of my hard earned musical connections, has been financially devastating & also challenged my self esteem where it relates to my original music career. On the other hand the magical experiences roll on in & I could not be happier to return to my groovy little rented house and a partner on the journey who supports & challenges me in equal measure & fuels the smiles that sooth my face in the quiet times.

Vive la journey...
