Is there any such thing as a run of the mill, ordinary gig when you are playing original music? Or an ordinary day? I have spent the afternoon making small yellow thongs as decorations for press copies of Fred & my new album 'lovethongs' They look really cute but like most of my flashes of genius are probably not quite worth all the trouble & time they are taking. But it's good to hold this new album in my hands. And the gigs have been quirky lately too. We played an out door show in Trentham last weekend where the wind was icy & Vince had to put pegs in my hair from his music stand to prevent me from being strangled by strands of my own hair. It just got colder & colder through the first set until I could no longer feel my fingertips. Luckily the local Bakery 'Redbeard' saved us all by letting us play the second set indoors. thanks to all of those who braved the cold to see us & also to the guys who cooked us a wonderful meal afterwards. Your warmth is what I will remember. Well, I'm just pretending to be idly musing. In reality it's action stations here & I'd better get back to the last surge of clerical work before Jigzag & Frencham Smith hit the road to play you all some new music. Cheers, ~liz x |
